Our board uses a high‑thermal‑conductivity food‑grade aluminum layer on one side, which transfers cold from the frozen food through the board and into the surrounding room. This speeds up thawing safely and naturally—no power cord needed.
Yes—but we strongly recommend cleaning and drying the thawing side after touching raw meat or fish before switching to chopping vegetables, fruits or garlic. For best hygiene, you may prefer using the chopping side for produce and the thawing side exclusively for meat/fish.
In addition to the dual‑side design, the board includes an integrated garlic grinder section and a knife‑sharpener groove. The garlic grinder lets you roll garlic cloves across that area to finely crush them. The knife sharpener groove is for gently honing your blade: insert the knife at a shallow angle, and pull it through the groove a few times (following the instructions) to maintain sharpness.
- After use, hand wash with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Because of the thawing surface, ensure there’s no damage or heavy knife cuts on that side (which could reduce performance).
- Avoid placing extremely hot items straight onto the board and avoid cutting on the defrost side.
- Regularly inspect for any wear/dents especially if using the board for raw meat to avoid contamination.
